A Shared Purpose *
Mossy Moon Farm was founded in 2024 after many years of dreaming and working towards a shared vision between husband and wife duo Andrew and Audrey Long. At its core the founding principles are based on slow farming while minimizing ecological impact and also providing a higher quality USA grown and produced product. Growing medicinal herbs was a natural choice to specialize in as so many of these plants thrive in our Mediterranean climate of the Pacific Northwest and provide a natural alternative to pharmaceutical medications and chemical laden products.
Andrew received a permaculture design certificate through the Blue Raven Farm on Salt Spring Island where he learned the diverse disciplines of ecological design. In 2009 he studied in the Sustainable Agriculture Education Program (SAgE) at Seattle Central Community College with an emphasis in agroforestry. For the last 10 years Andrew, has owned and operated his landscaping business Regeneration Landscaping, specializing in edible landscapes, rain gardens, and water catchment systems.
Audrey’s introduction to farming started in 2014 while working at Cloud Water Tea farm on Kauai. This experience nurtured a fondness for working the land and tending to livestock. Audrey currently has her massage practice Longevity Massage & Bodywork in Port Townsend, she looks to blend these two passions by incorporating herbal medicine and skincare into her massage practices and also call upon her bodywork for inspiration while formulating farm produced products.
Besides growing medicinal herbs Andrew and Audrey stay busying growing their own food and cut flowers with a menagerie of animals that keep their life joyful and provide a daily dose of laughter. They have a shared dedication to cultivating a daily meditation practice that has allowed for greater presence and awareness in all that they do.
